40-The Wisdom of Adorable Solomon

What’s the wisdom? Why is it severely important in our life? How should we raise our children? How should we behave with, relatives and enemies? What about riches and poverty? What are the general principles in relations? What about the wife and husband?

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (PROVERBS9:10)

The Wisdom

“The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew.” (PROVERBS3:19-20)

“For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.” (PROVERBS8:11)

“For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” (PROVERBS4:22)

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.” (PROVERBS3:13-14)

“My son, eat honey because it is good, And the honey which is sweet to your taste; So, shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it there is a prospect, and your hope will not be cut off.” (PROVERBS24:13-14)

Who's the Wise Man?

“A wise man fears and departs from evil, but a fool rage and is self-confident.” (PROVERBS14:16)

“A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, the simple pass on and are punished.” (PROVERBS27:12)

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise.” (PROVERBS12:15)

“The wise in heart will be called prudent, and sweetness of the lips increases learning.”(PROVERBS16:21)

“The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, But the folly of fools is deceit.” (PROVERBS14:8)

“The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.” (PROVERBS13:14)

“Rebuke is more effective for a wise man than a hundred blows on a fool.” (PROVERBS17:10)

“A fool vent all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.” (PROVERBS29:11)

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is a wise.” (PROVERBS11:30)

“The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.’ (PROVERBS14:15)

“As messengers of death is the king’s wrath, but a wise man will appease it.” (PROVERBS16:14)

“There are four things, which are little in the earth, but they are exceedingly wise: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer.” (PROVERBS30:24-25) 

“The rock badgers are a feeble folk, yet the make their homes in the crags; the locusts have no king, yet they all advance in ranks.” (PROVERBS30:26-27)

“The spider skillfully grasp with its hands, and it is in kings’ places.” (PROVERBS30:28)

“When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion; will preserve you; understanding will keep you, to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things.” (PROVERBS2:10-12)

“The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.” (PROVERBS3:35)

To Wife

“The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” (PROVERBS14:1)

“Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop. than in a house shared with a contentious woman.” (PROVERBS21:9)

“An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.” (PROVERBS12:4)

“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” (PROVERBS31:30)

To Husband

“The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man’s precious possession.” (PROVERBS12:27)

“For by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread and an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.” (PROVERBS6:26)

To Sons and Daughters

“My son keep your father’s command and do not forsake the law of your mother.” (PROVERBS6:20)

“A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.” (PROVERBS13:1) 

To Fathers and Mothers

“He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly.” (PROVERBS13:24)

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when, he is old he will not depart from it.” (PROVERBS22:6)

Social Relations

With Relatives

“There is one who scatters yet increase more; and there is who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.” (PROVERBS11:24)

“Whoever rewards evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.” (PROVERBS17:13)

“Open rebuke is better than love carefully concealed.” (PROVERBS27:5)

“An iron sharpens iron so; a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (PROVERBS27;17)

“To show partiality is not good, because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.” (PROVERBS28;21)

“He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends.” (PROVERBS17:9)

With Enemy

“Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; Lest the Lord see it and it displease Him and he turn away His wrath from him.” (PROVERBS24:17-18)

“If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him to drink; for so you will heap, coals of fire on his head.” (PROVERBS25:21-22)

With Evil, Oppressor and Betrayer

“Do not fret because of evildoers nor be envious of the wicked, for there will be no prospect for the evil man, the lamp of the wicked will be put out.” (PROVERBS24:19-20)

“Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil, avoid it, do not travel on it, turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil, and their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.” (PROVERBS4;14-16)

With the Ignorant

“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.” (PROVERBS13:20)

“Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.’ (PROVERBS23:9)

General Principles in Relations

“By pride comes nothing but strife, but with the well-advised is wisdom.” (PROVERBS13:10)

“The beginning of strife is like releasing water; therefore, stop contention before a quarrel starts.” (PROVERBS17:14)

“A present is a precious stone in the eyes of its possessor wherever he turns he prospers.” (PROVERBS17:8)

“He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a dog by the ears.” (PROVERBS26:17)

“He who is surety for a stranger will suffer, but one who hates being surety is secure.” (PROVERBS11;15)

“Debate your case with your neighbor, and do not disclose the secret to another; Lest he who hears it expose your shame, and your reputation is ruined.” (PROVERBS25:9-10)

“It is not good to eat much honey; so, to seek one’s own glory is not glory.” (PROVERBS25:17)

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (PROVERBS17:17)

“Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.” (PROVERBS21:23)

Concerning Richness and Poverty

“A faithful man will abound his blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” (PROVERBS28:20)

“Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a fatted calf with hatred.” (PROVERBS15:17)

“Better is a dry morsel with quietness, than a house full of feasting with strife.” (PROVERBS17:1)

“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold.” (PROVERBS22:1)

“Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich.” (PROVERBS28:6)

“He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage.” (PROVERBS11:28)

“Give me neither poverty nor riches Feed me with food allotted to me.” (PROVERBS30:8)
