Why the story of Ruth is, a unique loyalty story? how could she reach, Boaz’s heart? what Boaz denotes to? why she as a woman of nations deserved to be a royal root? who ‘s her grandson?

(Now it came to pass, in the days when the judges ruled, that there was famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem, Judah went to dwell in the country of Moab. The name of the man was Elimelech, the name of his wife was Naomi.) (RUTH 1:1,2)

(Then Elimelech died, and she was left, and her two sons. Now they took wives of the women of Moab, the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other was Ruth. Then both Mahlon and Chilion died.) (RUTH 1:3,4,5)

Naomi Returns with Her

(And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each to her mother’s house. And they said to her: “Surely we will return with you to your people.” But Naomi said, “Turn back, my daughters. Then they lifted up their voices and wept again, and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clang to her.) (RUTH 1:8,10,11,14)

Although Naomi was well heeled, but she was so delicate with her daughters-in-law, that she insisted on that, they may leave her.

Any way Orpah introduced, an honorable model that she longed so much to stay with Naomi, but before her mother-in-law’s insistence eventually, she wept and said goodbye, but Ruth crossed the human model and ran away introducing a super model in her faith to worship the living God.

(But Ruth said, “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for whenever you go, I will go; and whenever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. But death parts you and me.”) (RUTH 1:16,17)

And we as being believers, stand in respect and reverence for both, Naomi and her daughter-in-law, since Naomi while being mother-in-law could impress her daughter-in-law to leave the pagan worship and her nation with, no hope regarding, materialisms.

Then do we really, love our Christ as she who desired and longed to die and be buried with her mother-in-law?!

Ruth Meets Boaz

(Now the two of them went until they came to Bethlehem.) (RUTH 1:19)

(So, Ruth the Moabitess went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz. Who was of the family of Elimelech.) (RUTH 2:2,3)

Behold, she came to Bethlehem Boaz, her relative appeared, as the believer who entered into the membership of the church; Bethlehem, to find the Christ Himself became a relative to him.

According to the Law, gleaning heads of grains after reapers was left to the poor and the stranger. So, she did not find any shortcoming in such work also, she worked diligently from morning for a long time.

(Then Boaz said, “Whose young woman is this?”) (RUTH 2:5)

Hence, she impressed Boaz till he wondered Lo! Who is, this young woman?

(Then Boaz said to Ruth, “Do not go glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close. So, she fell in her face, bowed down to ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”) (RUTH 2:8,10)

In humbleness, she admitted that she is a foreigner and that she does not deserve this great interest, what made her more beauty in the eyes of Boaz.

(And Boaz answered and said to her, the Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.) (RUTH 2:11,12)

(And after Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was cheerful, he went to lie down, and she came softly, uncovered his feet, and lay down.) (RUTH 3:7)

(Now it happened at midnight that the man was startled, and turned himself, and there a woman was lying at his feet. And he said, “who are you?”) (RUTH 3:8,9)

(So, she answered, “I’m Ruth your maidservant. Take your maidservant under your wing. For you are a close relative.) (RUTH 3:9)

(Then he said, “Blessed are you of the Lord, my daughter! For you have shown more kindness at the end than at the beginning in that you did not go after young men, whether poor or rich. And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you request, for all the people of my town know that you are a virtuous woman.) (RUTH 3:10-11)

Thus, Boaz blessed her for her wisdom and love. He praised her honesty at the beginning for her man, loving her mother-in-law, and behold he has died she completed her love with a greater one since she did not run after young men to satisfy the lusts of the body, but she came after her relative in spite of, being aged.

(So, Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and when he went into her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bore a son.) (RURH 4:13)

(Also, the neighbor women gave him a name saying, “There is a son born to Naomi.” and they called his name Obed, he is a father of Jesse, the father of David.) (RUTH 4:17)

Thus, her story is concluded with the coming of “David” as a fruit for his grandmother’s faith, patience and tolerance, so the royal root of the Jewish nation has begun to grow till the unique fruit, “the son of David”, the truly spiritual king, comes.
