Moses sees the promised land

What was Moses’s error that prevented him from entering the promised land? what does this denote to? what does the bronze serpent denote to?

Moses's Error at Kadesh

(And the people stayed in Kadesh; and Mariam died there. Now there was no water for the congregation; so, they gathered together against Moses and Aaron.) (NUMBERS 20:1,2)
And there in Kadesh, Miriam, Moses’s sister died so that, he might have been remembering her and how she saved him, when he was an infant and asked for their mother to breastfeed him in an endless memory.
But the Scripture did not speak about any of these for that God’s sons are not broken by death or sadness, they only pay attention to their message and to the glory of God.
(And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and said to them, “Here now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?”) (NUMBERS 20:10)
(Then Moses lifted his hand and struck twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly. Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron. Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.) (NUMBERS 20:11,12)
So, Moses’s error was that he struck the rock instead of talking to it, as the Lord ordered him.

Canaanites' Defeat

(The king of Arad, the Canaanite, heard that Israel was coming. Then he fought against Israel and took some of them prisoners. So, Israel made a vow to the Lord, and said, “If You will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.”) (NUMBERS 21:1,2)
(And the Lord listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites, and they utterly destroyed them and their cities.) (NUMBERS 21:3)
Hence, the Lord converted Israel’s defeat to victory to confirm to us, that, He can succeed our way when we resort to Him obeying his orders.

The Bronze Serpent

(And the people spoke against God and against Moses. “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there’s no food and no water.”) (NUMBERS 21:5)
(So, the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and many of the people of Israel died. So, Moses prayed for the people.) (NUMBERS 21:6,7)
(Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.) (NUMBERS 21:8)
So, the bronze serpent denotes to the wood of the cross in that whoever looks at it gets healed, but, from other side the bronze serpent was a sign for the defeated Satan who lost his power.

Kings of Sihon and Og are Defeated

(Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying, “Let me pass through your land. We will not turn aside into fields or vineyards; we will not drink water from wells.”) (NUMBERS 21:21,22)
(But Sihon gathered all his people together and went out against Israel and fought against Israel.) (NUMBERS 21:23)
(Then Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword.) (NUMBERS 21:24)
(And they turned and went up by the way to Bashan. So, Og king of Bashan went out against them and all his people to battle at Edri.) (NUMBERS 21;33)
(So, they defeated him, his sons and his people, until there was no survivor left him and they took possession of his land.) (NUMBERS 21:35)
So, Israel excused Sihon and Og to pass in their land peacefully because, it might be that God wanted to give them a last chance for repentance. But when they refused to capture the chance, God punished them.

Israel's Harlotry in Moab

(Now Israel remained in Acacia Grove. And the people began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab. They invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods.) (NUMBERS 25:1-2)
(And indeed, one of the children of Israel came and presented to his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation.) (NUMBERS 25:6)
(Now when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them. So, the plague was stopped.) (NUMBERS 25:7,8)
How we need nowadays to look like Phinehas in his love to God and His righteousness.

The Greatest Commandment

(“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words, you shall teach them to your children.”) (DEUTERONOMY 6:4,5,6)
So, the responsibility of each a father and a mother each grandfather and grandmother are to reach the Lord’s message to their sons and daughters and grandsons and granddaughters.

Moses Sees the Land

(Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebu, to the top of Pisgah, which is across from Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the land of Gilead as far as Dan.) (DEUTERONOMY 34:1)
(All Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea, the South, and the plain of the Valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.) (DEUTERONOMY 34:2-3)
(Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to give Abraham, Isaac and Jakob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants. ‘I have caused you to see it with your eyes.”) (DEUTERONOMY 34:4)
This time Moses went up the mountain solely to deliver his soul into the Hand of God whom he loved so much in a Sacramento and unexpressed meeting, in a great joyfulness and deliverance into the Hand of the mighty God.
So, it might be mostly thoughtful that the maximum of the law is to look at the promised land without entering it. Only, we can get in it by Jesus Christ.
