Isaac meets Rebekah

Isaac is son of promise. How he lived? and the great impact of his great temptation that I guess affected his entire life. His love to Rebekah and God’s response to his plea for her. what should we get out of his life?

He is born

(For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the set time of which God had spoken to him.) (Genesis21:2)

Slaying him

(But Isaac spoke to Abraham “Look, the fire and the wood, but where’s the Lamb for a burnt offering?”) (Genesis22:7)
It shows that he was not knowing that he is the burnt offering.
(Abraham built an altar and he bound Isaac and laid him on the altar.) (Genesis 22:9)
Although knowing that he is the burnt offering, he did not argue or even open his mouth in a complete deliverance to God and complete obedience to his father.

Sarah's death

(Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years these were the years of the life of Sarah. So, Sarah died in Kirjath Arba (that’s, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.) (Genesis 23:1-2)

A bride for Isaac

(And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening, and he lifted his eyes and looked. Then Rebekah lifted her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from her camel, for she said to the servant, “Who’s this man walking in the field to meet us?” the Servant said, “It’s my master.” so she took a veil and covered herself.) (Genesis24:63-65)
(Then Isaac brought her into his mother Srah’s tent, and took Rebekah and She became his wife, and he loved her. So, Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.) (Genesis 24:67)
So, Rebekah ran over for her bridegroom after she left her family like, the new covenant church to accept the Christ instead of her pagan heritage and She met with him at Beer Lahai Roi as in the baptism.
Also, He went out to meditate in the field in the evening as it was a habit for the Jews to pray in the open air, meditating in the work that God had done to them in their whole day and that habit is still existing among lots of Monks of Egypt.
He was representing the Christ who left His glory and went out to the field Through the incarnation to meet with Rebekah that she dismounted from her camel in modest.
And the church got involved with the Christ who set it in replace for the synagogue. (Caesarius of Arles)

Abraham's Death and Burial

(Then Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him.) (Genesis25:8’9)

The family of Isaac

(Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife. Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren, and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.) (Genesis25:20-21)

Isaac and Abimalech

(And it came to pass, after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac.) (Genesis25:11)
(Then Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundred-fold. The man began to prosper, until he became very prosperous.) (Genesis26:12’13)
(And Abimelech said to Isaac, “Go away from us, for you are much mightier Than we.) (Genesis26:16)
(Then Abimelech came to him with Ahuzzath and Phichol the commander of his army. And Isaac said to them, “why have you come to me?”. But they said “We have certainly seen that the Lord is with you. So, we said ‘Let there be an oath between us.) (Genesis26:26-28)
(So, he made them a feast, and they ate and drank.) (Genesis26:30)
from the above we can conclude that nothing can prevent or stop the blessing Of God given to those who really love and believe in him. since that he did not depend upon the power of his arm like nowadays generations but only upon God, because He and He only who has the real power.
Not only the blessing of God given to him was related to the possessions, but it extended to include his wife to get conceived.
