God establishes His covenant with Abraham with a sign, which is, circumcision. But why is it confined only for males?  What about the great feast Abraham has done to the Lord? How God tested Abraham’s faith? How did he act? what was God’s reaction?

The sign of the covenant

(“As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many Nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name Shall be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.)(Genesis 17:4-5).
The story of God with man is always a story of love. God is always seeking a Renewable and a continuing love relationship with man.
For this He has chosen prophet Abraham to establish a covenant not only With Him but for all nations. For all the peoples of the world to enjoy the Beautiful Emotions of the Lord. Loving Him as an entity, not a relation aims Only to Saturate our external wishes and desires of the world.
Abram means the honorable father, his name became Abraham a father for Many nations.
(This is my covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you: Every male Child among you shall be circumcised, He who is eight days old among you.)(Genesis17:10’12)
Circumcision is confined only for males not for, disregarding nor, a lack of Interest for females but, because, the woman is holy in the man whom is Holy In God. And this ensures the unity of the family.
Furthermore, circumcision should be by heart not only a sign in a flesh.

The unique feast

(Then the Lord appeared to him by the Terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was Sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. So, he lifted his eyes and looked, And behold, three men were standing by Him; and when he saw them, he ran From the tent door to meet them.)(Genesis18:1-2)
After so, there was a historical meeting between the Lord and Abraham. A Real spiritual meeting each one is looking for.
Hence, this meeting was between the human spirit presented by Abraham and By the Lord as a father and a friend.
So, when we are sincere in our relation with God we enter in alive love Relationship with Him.
And to meet with Him we should wait for Him in the heat of the noon; the Heat Of the temptation.
Furthermore, we should be enthusiastic in meeting Him and running in our Relations with Him.
(So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them, and he stood by them under the tree as they ate.)(Genesis 18:8)
Abraham was a very generous and welcoming man so he made a unique Feast To his guests.
(And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and Behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.”)(Genesis18:10)
Hence, when we give God our best, He also gives us even the impossible Wishes.

Isaac is born

(And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He Had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at The Set time of which God had commanded him.)(Genesis21:1-2)
At the time set by God, we receive His wonderful gifts and beautiful rewarding.

God tempts the faith of Abraham.

As God the Father presented God the Son as a live sacrifice, for saving the world from sins, so did Abraham, presented his only son a sacrifice to the Lord God.
For this reason, the Coptic Orthodox church uses this event in the prayers of The Holy mass of Mondays and Thursdays, in the division prayers.
(Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to Him, “Abraham!” “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and Go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”) (Genesis 22:1-2)
So, God examined him not because He does not know him but to justify him, announcing his faith to be a great role model for the humanity.
(By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, concluding that God Was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.) (HEBREWS 11:17,18)
So, the messenger introduced a complete picture for the temptation of Abraham that, he had a faith that Isaac would be risen up; that kind of faith that appeared for the First time.

Abraham's faith confirmed

(So, Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went Together.) (Genesis 22:6)
So, he took Isaac and went on his way without telling his wonderful Wife Sarah, because we should not tell our beloved families about the love Actions We should do except for the necessity.
He and Isaac went together as for, God the Father and God the son. God the father presented his love, and the God the son presented His complete Obedience for saving us from our sins.
(Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham Stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.) (Genesis 22:8,10)

God's reaction faster than Abraham

(But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven” Abraham, Abraham!” “Do Not lay your hand on the lad, or doing thing to him, for now I know that You fear God.) (Genesis22:11-12)
Here comes the master scene, when God sees our faith and love for Him, he Moves in an extremely high speed to save, heal or cure us.
(So, Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beersheba.)(Genesis22:19)
The two young men did not go with him when he went to present his son, but they returned with him to Beersheba.
This might be a symbol for the Jewish nation which did not go to Jesus During the crucifixion but eventually, in the end of days, they might do so.
